Terms of service
These terms are an agreement between you and PlentiFlower LLC, a Washington limited liability company (“PlentiFlower,” “we,” “us”). They apply when you use the plentiflower.com website, the free PlentiFlower demo or the PlentiFlower apps (together, “PlentiFlower”). By using PlentiFlower, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use PlentiFlower.
The short version
- Account owners must be 13 or older.
- Subscriptions are billed and cancelled through the App Store or Google Play.
- Your gardens are yours. We use them only to run PlentiFlower for you.
- Suggestions and other advice are general information, not professional advice. Check before you eat, spray or spend.
- Washington law applies.
This summary isn't a substitute for the full terms below.
1. Who can use PlentiFlower
You must be at least 13 years old to create a PlentiFlower account. If you're under 18 (or the age of majority where you live), a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you. Parents and guardians are responsible for how their children use PlentiFlower. The planned classroom version, PlentiFlower Learn, will have its own terms.
2. Your account
Give accurate information when you sign up, keep your sign-in details secure and tell us at plentiflower@gmail.com if you think someone else has used your account. You're responsible for what happens in your account.
3. The demo and the free version
The demo and the free version are provided at no charge, and we may change, limit or end them at any time. The demo saves your work only in your browser; clearing your browser's data or using “Reset the demo” deletes it, and we can't recover it.
4. Subscriptions and payment
- Billing. Paid plans are sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play and billed to your store account. The price, billing period and what's included are shown before you buy.
- Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends.
- Cancelling. Cancel any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the app doesn't cancel your subscription. After you cancel, you keep paid features until the end of the period you've paid for.
- Free trials. If we offer a free trial, it turns into a paid subscription when it ends unless you cancel before then.
- Refunds. Apple and Google handle refunds under their own policies. We can't issue refunds for purchases made through their stores.
- Price changes. If a price changes, we'll give you notice as the store requires, and the new price applies from your next renewal.
- Free tier limits. We may change what the free version includes.
5. Your content
Your gardens, journal entries, photos and notes (“your content”) belong to you. You give us permission to store, copy, display and process your content only as needed to run PlentiFlower for you and the people you share with, including sending parts of it to our AI provider to answer your questions. This permission ends when you delete your content or your account, except for copies in backups, which we delete on our normal schedule.
When you share a garden, anyone with its invite code can see and change it. Only upload content you have the right to share, and nothing illegal or harmful.
6. Using PlentiFlower fairly
Please don't:
- break the law or use PlentiFlower to harm anyone;
- try to get into other people's accounts or gardens, or into our systems;
- copy, resell, scrape or reverse-engineer PlentiFlower, or build a competing product from it;
- overload PlentiFlower or get around its limits, including limits on Suggestions;
- use Suggestions to create harmful, illegal or misleading content.
7. Suggestions and gardening information
PlentiFlower's Suggestions are written by AI (Claude, made by Anthropic). Suggestions, plant information, planting dates, weather, budgets and other guidance in PlentiFlower are general information. They can be wrong, incomplete or out of date, and they aren't professional agricultural, horticultural, veterinary, medical, legal, financial or tax advice.
- Be sure of a plant's identity before you eat it, and check whether plants are safe for children and pets.
- Read and follow product labels, and check local rules (such as water restrictions, burn bans and invasive-species rules).
- Frost dates, planting windows and forecasts are estimates.
- Farm records, crop plans and budgets in PlentiFlower Pro don't replace an accountant, an agronomist or your organic certifier.
You're responsible for the decisions you make in your garden or on your farm.
8. Our property
PlentiFlower's software, design, illustrations, text and plant library, and the PlentiFlower™ name and logo, belong to us and are protected by law. We give you a personal, limited, non-transferable permission to use PlentiFlower under these terms (for PlentiFlower Pro, for your farm or business's own internal use). Anything not expressly allowed here is reserved.
If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without owing you anything.
9. Other services
PlentiFlower links to or relies on services run by others, such as the App Store, Google Play and Google Forms. Their terms apply to your use of them, and we're not responsible for them.
If you got the app from the Apple App Store: these terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for the app or its content, has no obligation to provide support for it, and isn't responsible for any claims about it. If the app fails to meet any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price; beyond that, Apple has no warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You also agree to Apple's own usage rules.
10. Changes and ending
PlentiFlower is growing, so features will change. You can stop using PlentiFlower at any time and delete your account in the app. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts others at risk. Where we can, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to export your data.
11. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent the law allows, PlentiFlower is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise that PlentiFlower will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that following its advice will produce any particular harvest.
12. Limits on our liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost crops, profits, data or business, arising from your use of PlentiFlower. Our total liability for any claim about PlentiFlower is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50.
Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be limited by agreement.
13. Washington law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. If you have a concern, please email us first at plentiflower@gmail.com; most problems can be solved that way, and we'll try for 30 days to do so. If we can't, either of us may bring a claim in small claims court, or in the state or federal courts in Snohomish County, Washington, and we both agree to those courts' jurisdiction.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll post the new version here with a new effective date, and for significant changes we'll give notice on the website or in the app before they take effect. If you keep using PlentiFlower after that, the new terms apply.
